Chittippara, also known as The Meesappuli Peak of Thiruvananthapuram
is a beautiful viewpoint, where you can see the most beautiful sunrise and sunset. Come to Chittipara early in the morning to see the beautiful sun rising from behind the Agasthyamalai Mountain. The view is filled in 360 degrees. Cold wind blowing at anytime above Chittipara. The picturesque views of Chittipara make travelers very impressed. Before reaching Vidthura on the Thiruvananthapuram Ponmudi route, one can reach the Chittipara Airavalli Thampuran temple by traveling about two kilometers to the right from the Irukalai corner after passing Tholikkodu. It is now about 15 minutes away by walk.
Vazhvanthol waterfalls is situated in the western ghats near to ponmudi, in trivandrum district of kerala.. its about 50 km from Trivandrum City.
On the trivamdrum ponmudi route, just after vithura turn right to Bonacaud Estate.. At about 15 km you will find a forest check post with the name of the waterfall written. Passes are distributed here. You can hire guides if you want and can go in your vehicle for about 1 km. After that it is a 2 km walk through stunning dark forest to reach the falls.
A small village hamlet in Trivandrum, Bonacaud is also a really pretty picnic spot. A sprawling encompassment of natural beauty in its array of valleys, waterfalls and hills, Bonacaud also is the lesser known base station of the famous peak, Agasthyarkoodam in the Agasthya hills of the Western Ghats. What however strikes a different tone amidst the abundant beauty and verdance tract that defines every aspect of Kerala and also Bonacaus is the presence of supposedly among the most haunted places in the state. That’s a chill that the Bonacaud Bungalow encompasses, that in its misty presence and obscure existence stands very much as a ghostly ground. There also however exists an abandoned tea factory that also adds its own dose of horror to Bonacaud.
A popular tourist spot, these mountain tops of Kerala stand in the backdrop of the gurgling
Kallada river, along with the tumult of the playful Meenmutty Waterfalls, are a visual treat, just an hour away from the capital city.
